ADUs

File Notes

Methodology

Three shelves. The first 23 are prefab models whose own page calls them an accessory dwelling, or that the catalog tags ADU. A shared line that only says the maker offers ADU designs was not enough. The next 100 are the first listings in the America's Best House Plans ADU collection, in the order retrieved on 2026-10-01. That order is not a sales rank. Then 53 SmartFraming kitsets the maker calls granny flats, which is the New Zealand term, not a U.S. eligibility ruling. Stories shelve the U.S. prefab models. Style shelves the retail plans. Granny flat shelves the kitsets.

Sourcing

Prefab models taken 2026-10-01 from Modern Prefabs. The hundred retail plans are from America's Best House Plans, collection pages 1–6, pinned to the company's stated Marietta office. The kitsets are from SmartFraming's 60 m² and 70 m² granny-flat categories. Those drawings were not on the list page, so the cards are name plates. The office pin is 108B Harris Road, East Tamaki, Auckland, from the company's own site.
