Top 100 Magazines
Periodicals filed for influence, originality, editorial quality, and longevity. Not a circulation list. The first hundred keep the source order. A continuation follows, and the shelves include the fields the first pass had buried.
Influence, not circulation.

How this file was kept
- Methodology
- Ranks 1–100 are the source order and were not moved. Ranks 101–150 are an editorial continuation. Ranks 151–154 exist so Sports is a shelf, not a single card. Fields now include the ones the first pass had folded away: Film, Sports, Business, Computing, and Politics, alongside News, Ideas, Picture, Fashion, Science, Culture, Satire, Literature, Home, Design, and Music. The maker is the publishing house, not a repeat of the title. Year is the first issue, or the revival when that is the run the note describes. The Camera still has no confirmed first year. The Dial here is the 1920 magazine. Bloomberg Businessweek is dated 1929, when it was BusinessWeek.
- Sourcing
- Ranks 1–100: Top 100 Magazines of All Time. Nature and Science stay as journals; The Whole Earth Catalog stays catalog-like. Later ranks use the same standard — influence, not circulation. Country, cadence, and whether it is still publishing sit on each record. A cover is used only when the image is that periodical: a Wikipedia or Commons cover, or a scanned issue. Fourteen titles had no trustworthy cover and stay on name plates.
- Provenance
- File 015. 154 magazines. Source hundred, fifty more, then four sports titles so that field is not empty. Slug top-magazines.
