Labcorp rheumatology clinical testing page stating ACR/ICAP recommend IFA as gold standard for ANA, describing reflex titer/pattern and multiplex biomarker profiles, and noting isolated anti-DFS70 may help identify absence of ANA-associated rheumatic disease. Candidate notes: States ACR ANA task force and ICAP recommend IFA as the gold standard for ANA testing. A positive ANA may occur in healthy individuals (low titer) or be associated with various diseases. Offers ANA by IFA with reflex to titer/pattern and multiplex biomarker profiles (dsDNA, RNP, Sm, SS-A, SS-B, Scl-70, etc.). Anti-DFS70 may help identify individuals who do not have an ANA-associated autoimmune rheumatic disease, especially without significant clinical findings. Positive anti-DFS70 in isolation is cited with likelihood ratio 10.9 for absence of SARD (per referenced study on this page). Limits noted in the record: Commercial laboratory marketing/education page; likelihood ratios depend on cited external studies. A positive ANA is not a diagnosis. Claims in this record are not verified.
